For all the things I despised about Texas...

This makes me proud. Thanks Mr. Perry, it is exactly the sort of legislation we need.

While the thought may be noble, let's not be fooled into thinking that Rick Perry did this out of concern for women's health. The man took thousands from Merck and Merck's well-funded lobbyists.

And I'm sorry, but this one good thing doesn't make up for his homophobia or his anti-choice stands.

For the record, I voted for Kinky Friedman for governor last fall.

I agree with all of that and if I hadn't run out of Texas screaming years ago, I too would have voted for Kinky.

Perry is Bush's butt boy. I realize that. That does not discount the fact that what was done is starting a trend that will cause many less women to die every year. For that I am thankful.
